It is our hope and prayer that your time with the Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ is uplifting and encouraging.  We want to extend to you and your family an open invitation to worship with us any time you are able. If you have any questions feel free to contact an Elder, Deacon or Minister and we will give you a Bible answer for a Bible Question.

Please remember to check on each other during this time of isolation.  Take a few minutes to look through your directories and give someone a call.  Many of our folks are alone and contact with church family means so much to them.  If you have time drop someone a card or short note.  Hopefully our time away from the assembly is drawing to a close and we can see each other once again.  Remember we are in the office on Monday and Thursday and usually in and out on Tuesday and Wednesday.  If you need anything, please do not hesitate to call.  The church calls are being forwarded and we will try to take care of your concerns.

Our Mission

We are a body of believers meeting at this location, and only one of thousands of congregations of the church of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

•We recognize no earthly headquarters nor owe allegiance to anyone except Jesus, who is the head of the church which he has purchased with His own blood.

•We pattern ourselves after the Christians of the first century in collective worship, church organization and discipleship.  We do not claim to be perfect, but wholly and completely rely on the grace of God that is only found in Jesus Christ.

•We fully accept that a saving faith in Christ is an active faith.

•Our mission is to lift Christ up so that all men may be drawn to Him.

What can you expect in our worship assembly?

We gather together each Sunday, as the Christians in the first century did ...

On the first day of the week, we came together to break bread ... Acts 20:7

Due to COVID-19 until further notice we will only have one service a week:

Sunday Morning Worship: 10:30 A.M.

Worship Procedures

People’s comfort levels concerning our return to worship are mixed right now. Some are okay with it and some are not. We want you to understand that your safety is very important to us and we understand how you feel. We will practice social distancing and we will only have one weekly service as we begin to reopen. We miss everyone & are excited to see you all again. Doors will be unlocked at 10:00am.

 If you are not comfortable in returning to worship, if you are not feeling well or are part of the at-risk population & are not comfortable in being around crowds, please stay home

 Every other pew will be blocked; upon arrival please go directly to your seat

 Families from the same household may sit together with 6 feet left open on either side

 Two individuals who are not members of the same household but who are attending together can sit next to one another, with 6 feet open on either side

 If we run out of room on the main floor to accommodate everyone, we will utilize seating in the balcony following the same measures; the balcony will be closed unless we need it to accommodate overflow seating

 Physical contact will be limited—no handshaking or hugging. After Worship please do not congregate in the auditorium; move any conversations outside the building. Please leave a distance of 6’ between families as you exit

 You are encouraged to wear a mask but it will NOT be required (you will need to furnish your own)

 We will NOT have a separate service for our members who are 65 & over; we will follow the guidelines set in place by the Texas Attorney General’s office & make accommodations as needed. We do not want anyone to feel obligated to attend; if you are not ready to be in crowds you will be able to watch the service live at 10:30am via our website, sermon.net, YouTube & Facebook.

 Volunteers & staff will wear masks & gloves when possible. (we will provide these individuals with masks & gloves; you are welcome to bring your own)

 Communion kits & bulletins will be handed to you upon entry to the building; volunteers will pick up the trash immediately following Communion service (please place your trash back in the baggie to be picked up)

 We will sanitize between each Sunday service & there will not be books, cards, pencils, etc., available during the service. We will rely on the projection system.

 The cry room will be available; the nursery will be closed

 No one will be allowed in the hallway behind the office, past the restrooms by the office or upstairs in the classrooms. If you feel you will need water, etc., please bring it from home. The office will be open to staff only; if you need batteries, etc. please see Lori

 The front, back & side doors to the auditorium will be unlocked, all other doors to the building will remain locked. We appreciate your patience as we work through this reopening process.
